| |
Who
are the people in charge, and what are their qualifications?
The Camp Administrators, as well as other key personal, are certified
teachers with many years of camp experience.
Is the camp accredited?
Young People's Day Camp of Queens is accredited by the American
Camp Association (ACA). Camps accredited by the ACA must adhere
to very strict standards in many areas, such as adequate health
care, program, staff and transportation.
Is the camp insured? Absolutely - each camper is covered through
our medical and liability insurance.
Is the camp licensed?
Yes- the licensing agency is the New York City Health Department,
which visits us several times during the summer to ensure that
we are in compliance.
Are medical personal available?
Young People's of Queens always has First Aid and CPR certified
personal on the premises. A registered nurse and/or a doctor are
always on call.
Who are the counselors?
Our counselors are mostly college students and teachers. All of
our counselors are people who are either known to us as former
campers, or individuals who have been recommended and have impeccable
credentials.
How do the children get to camp?
The campers are transported by buses, which are driven by professional,
certified bus drivers. While many camps lease buses and have the
counselors drive them, Young People's Day Camp of Queens believes
that it is much safer to leave the driving to the professionals.
How do I pay for camp?
Upon registration, a deposit is required. The balance is broken
up into a series of payments, to make payment as comfortable as
possible. There are no registration fees, interest fees, or service
charges.
What happens if I have to get in
touch with you or my child during the camp day?
No problem - call 1-800-856-1043, and they'll call us with your
message - We'll get back to you ASAP. |
